Feel assured – we’re accredited!
We pride ourselves on high quality everything – from the service you receive to the installation standards we’re known for. Our accreditations are the badges to prove it.
It can be daunting to take the first step in researching solar for your home, and with so many acronyms and logos out there, it’s hard to know what’s important and why. If you don’t yet know your MCS from your HIES, we’re here to help you feel more confident in the lingo that matters when it comes to solar.
Our accreditations are from independent organisations who give us their official stamp of approval. This means they’ve looked at how we install solar systems and confirm we meet their high standards. We’re committed to providing you with the very best solar installation for your home, that’s our promise.

Microgeneration Certification Scheme (MCS)
MCS is a mark of quality that certifies products, installers and installations to a certain standard. MCS membership demonstrates adherence to these recognised industry standards; highlighting quality, competency and compliance.
What does MCS mean for customers?
- Your solar system is designed and installed by an MCS-accredited team – certified experts who have completed MCS technical qualifications
- MCS standards set out best practices for both the solar installation, and the paperwork required to protect you after an install. This includes things like safe wiring designs, calculations of wind load, evaluating the strength of the roof, requirements for smoke alarms, suitable locations for inverters etc. MCS standards are designed to make sure that equipment we use meets good standards of performance and that the parts are installed safely and competently
- Any installer that is MCS accredited has undergone a rigorous vetting process to demonstrate adherence to the MCS Standards – this can bring peace of mind to customers who are looking for a credible installer. To keep our certification, we’ll be audited again every year
- MCS members are also required to become a member of a Consumer Code (e.g. Glowb is a member of HIES). The HIES scheme is designed to ensure all customers are ‘respected, protected and educated’ when it comes to the installation of home energy products. After your installation, we’ll submit the paperwork to MCS, and will provide you with an MCS certificate within 10 working days
- Currently, MCS certification is a legal requirement to access the UK government’s Smart Export Guarantee (SEG) scheme. If your system isn’t MCS certified, your energy supplier doesn’t have to pay you for any unused energy exported back to the grid
- For peace of mind, you can find an MCS certified installer by using MCS’s ‘find an installer’ search. Our certification number is NIC-600938 and our membership number is membership number GLO/A/1303
